Grants do not need to be repaid and can help people fulfill their financial goals. The agency decides to award grants according to the strength of the application, and also determines the benefits that can be provided.
There are several federal grant agencies offering grants to all sorts of individuals and groups, and many of them are just like you. Some of the most famous ones include:
US Agency for International Development (USAID)
The main purpose of the USAID is to end poverty while encouraging governments to promote the security and well-being of their people. Because this agency strives to help food shortages, poor health, etc., the USAID currently operates in over a hundred countries and offers grants to strong, positive applicants with a similar mission. This is America’s largest grant awarding agency for both services and volunteering. Furthermore, CNCS is dedicated to discovering all the talent and energy of American citizens to improve lives, strengthen their communities and more. US Department of Education (ED)
The main aim of ED is to promote and prepare students for the workplace. They achieve this by offering equal opportunities to all children to get an education and further that education after high school. With a budget of $68 billion dollars to spend on education, they also monitor schools for research and development. Their main projects include the IES (Institute of Education Sciences) and the Academic Improvement and Teacher Quality Programs which help provide aid to students and schools.
US Department of Commerce (DOC)
The DOC is focused on growing the economy, employment, and job creation. These grants are specifically focused towards partnerships with businesses, communities, colleges and of course, the nation’s workforce. It aims to improve trade, business practice, research and to protect the environment.
US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
The HHS aims to provide necessary health services to all Americans, especially those who are not able to afford it themselves. While their main focus is on medicine, social services and public health, they also provide many other services as well.
